Tennis resumes!

Finally, tennis can resume at Parker Reserve starting today. Please note that the rules as issued by Tennis Victoria need to be followed. Play will be allowed only if booked via Ben Longridge’s system. NO BOOKING, NO PLAY. There are a maximum of 10 people allowed at the facility, excluding coaches and committee. Singles only, unless you have four people from no more than 2 households Social distancing of 2 meters to be applied at all times.

Stage 4 restrictions

The Victorian Government announced that from 6pm on Sunday 2 August, Victoria entered a State of Disaster. Consequently, all tennis clubs and facilities must close in Metropolitan Melbourne until further notice. We know this is a difficult time for everyone. It is important that we respect the new restrictions for our own health and the health and safety of the wider community. Please do stay safe and healthy during this difficult time and hopefully we can see a return to tennis again in the Spring.

President's report

Greetings folks. Hope this update finds you all well and coping with our changing world. As you would be aware, the competition tennis which was due to resume last week did not start due to the resumed lockdown. I was pleased that tennis was more carefully considered in the guidelines due to the inherent nature of tennis giving us ample distance between players while on court playing a game. That said, our off-court behaviour between games needs to be mindful of the restrictions, so as to respect and protect each of our fellow players.

Lockdown 2

Dear members, Please note that as of midnight tonight, the Maroondah Council has instructed the committee to close the clubhouse and place restrictions on the use of courts, as per the guidelines from Tennis Victoria. Please note that the clubhouse, including the toilets will be off-limits. The courts remain accessible to members - however, doubles only permitted by members of the same household, and singles for those not of the same household.
